MARJORIE SCHWARZ

The Goss-Michael Foundation presents paintings by Marjorie Schwarz. Utilizing deceivingly straightforward portraiture and the aesthetics of the domestic photo album, Schwarz evokes imagery ranging from nostalgic to eerie. The exhibition will include a suite of family and self portraits shown for the first time in its entirety.

Marjorie Schwarz received her BFA at Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1999. Recent solo exhibitions include Dutton Gallery at The Dallas Art Fair 2014, Texas Contemporary 2012, Conduit Gallery Project Room, and Plush Gallery. Schwarz has taken part in numerous group shows that include The Dallas Biennial 2014, The Brandon, Houston; Texas Contemporary, 2013; Dutton, New York; Fallas Dart Air, Dallas; James Harris Gallery, Seattle; CHAMPION, Austin; Inman Gallery, Houston; And/Or Gallery, Dallas: Angstrom Gallery, Los Angeles; The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, Dallas; and The Centre Pompidou, Paris.
